The vinyl has been cut out. At this stage there is no visible difference between this and a piece of raw vinyl.

 Now the vinyl is "trimmed away", i.e. the part used to form the lettering is separated from the rest.

Now the vinyl is totally trimmed, leaving just the lettering.

We then apply the transfer paper,
a slightly sticky paper which will enable each letter to stay in place

The lettering is "mounted" onto the transfer paper.
The lettering is delivered to you like this.

This part is now stuck onto a surface like a conventional sticker.

Simply remove the transfer paper and the lettering is stuck down.
