Quality of vinyl used by STICKAIR

This is an accurate description of the vinyl that we use to produce your vinyl lettering. Since we were founded, we have always prioritised quality. As in everything, there are different qualities of materials from the least expensive product to the "top quality" product. Vinyl is no exception to this rule.

There are three main categories of vinyl :

  • Calendered monomer vinyl: Bottom of the range, low cost but very short life span, quite thick, therefore breaks rather than flexes. It also tends to dilate and shrink very easily which also shortens its lifespan.

  • Calendered polymer vinyl: Mid range, mid price and life span of 3 to 5 years, average specifications: thickness, dilation/shrinkage, it is all-purpose.

  • Cast quality: Top quality, the price can be relatively high for a life span of 7 to 10 years. This vinyl is used to mark airline planes.

Un vinyle qui s'adapte à toutes les surfaces

To offer the best value for money, the widest range of applications for long-life marking, STICKAIR.COM has opted for Fascal 800 PC (TM) by AVERY. This cast vinyl will keep its original colour for 10 years (white) and 6 (metallic colours).

60 microns thick (ultra thin), it will also withstand application to surfaces that are rough or contain small obstructions (rivets, knocks to bodywork, etc.). We sell it at the standard price for the lower category product.

By way of example, if you look at the vinyl lettering around you (shop windows, vehicles, etc.), the vinyl most frequently used is calendered monomer, more rarely calendered polymer.

To meet the demand for temporary marking, we have opted for a MACTAC brand of removable vinyl, MACal 8900 pro.
This product has a life span of 3 to 4 years outdoors and can be removed very easily without leaving any traces of adhesive. This vinyl is also ideal for all forms of sticky indoor decorative designs and can be stuck on painted walls, refrigerators, tables, etc.
